Fashion Steals

My Whole Self

I got a new outfit and it didn’t break the bank for once! I spent a total of 40 dollars on the shoes, dress, and necklace.

I bought the shoes and dress at Ross. You have to dig, but they have some great items. I got the necklace at Wal-Mart. As much as I can’t stand that place, the necklace was on sale and I loved it. I go through clothes and jewelry like nobody’s business so it’s great to find a good bargain.

M.A.C. Luna cream color base
M.A.C. Graphito Paint
M.A.C. Carbon eye shadow
M.A.C. Bell Bottom Blue Pigment
M.A.C. Lucky Green eye shadow
M.A.C. White Pigment
Jordana Black eye liner khol
Maybelline Define-A-Lash mascara Very Black

2. Then I applied a thin coat of Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin to your entire eyelid

3. Apply a thin coat of Luna Cream Color Base on your whole eyelid.

4.  Apply Graphito paint with a small brush used for emollient products.  Put it on your eyelide from the lashline to the crease.  With another larger flat brush, pull the black up gently past your crease, but not to high.

5. With a domed eye shadow brush apply Carbon eyeshadow over the black paint.

6. With a pencil shaped brush line your lower lashline with Lucky Green eyeshadow and the pack it onto the crease of your upper lid.

7.  With a fluffy browbone brush apply White pigment then gently pull the white downward to soften the blue/green line.

8.  Line the inner and outer eyelids with a black eyeliner

9.  Apply mascara

10. Apply the Cubic Blush

11.  Add the Clear lipliner to your lips, wait about a minute.

12. With a lip brush apply High Strung Lipstick

13.  Put on Saplicious lipgelee on top lightly.

Grunge Nail Art

Grunge Nails

This is a really cool nail art look I did. First of all I used a clear base coat from Sally Hansen. After about 5 minutes I applied 1 generous coat of silver chrome Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in “Celeb City”. I let that coat dry for about 15 minutes.

For the black lines, I used Kiss Nail Art Paint in black. It has a super thin brush that I just went over my nails with in one direction. By the time I was finished with them I could go the other direction to make the “squares”. The good thing about this design is that it does not have to be perfect to look good.. the more random the better.

Lastly, after waiting about 10 minutes, so the lines wouldn’t smear, I applied a coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. This stuff is a miracle! It dries your nails very fast and leaves them hard.

If you get any polish out of your nail, just use a q tip and nail polish remover to clean up the edges.

Places To Buy Ben Nye Makeup

Ben Nye makeup is stage makeup or theatrical makeup.   It can’t be found in just any department or drugstore.  If you live somewhere near a theatre, costume, or dance store, you should look there.  They also may carry other good brands of stage makeup such as Kryolan or Mehron.

First check out Ben Nye’s official site.  You cannot order directly from them, but you can see all the products they offer.    http://www.bennyemakeup.com/     You must call them directly for dealer information.

Here are some online sites I’ve bought from in the past that I’ve been pleased with:

http://myworld.ebay.com/funhousetheatrical/

http://www.theatricalmakeup.org/

http://www.fun-shop.com/

If you live near Houston, you can visit this store.  http://www.southern-importers.com/home.html   You can also order from them too, they sell alot of neat costumes, makeup, party items, etc.  Located right out of downtown Houston, on San Jacinto Street.

Over that I used a medium domed eyeshadow brush to apply Ben Nye Lumiere Luxe loose powder shadow in Cosmic Violet.

I used a black pencil liner to line the waterline (a.k.a. tightlining).

For mascara I use M.A.C.’s Plushlash, in Plushblack.
