Extreme Plastic Surgery

I don’t like plastic surgery.   I get sad when I see one of my favorite celebrities totally change their appearance.  Plastic surgery does not bother me if it’s for a medical reason other than a psychiatric disorder that manifests itself through their distorted perception of their appearance.   That’s what most plastic surgery is about, acheiving some sort of perfection..when I see a girl with half cut cantaloupe screw on breasts, I don’t think its attractive at all and wonder why she doesn’t  just tattoo “insecure” on her chest instead.  A ton of women that have breast implants dress in the manner to draw attention to that body part.  It really isn’t a good thing!  uicide rates increase if you get a breast enhancement.I understand the entertainment industry is infinitely competitive, unfortunately the celebrities that have body work done most always end up screwing over their careers.

For example, Meg Ryan, she used to be so cute and pretty!  I saw her on Joe Versus the Volcano the other day and had to point out to my husband who the actress was..he started laughing and asking why? why? Her mouth is not attractive.  Notice how she no longer has many roles.  I don’t even know if she is in movies anymore.

Actress Jennifer Gray did the same to her nose.  She had a film career with hit movies.. Dirty Dancing, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, to name a few.  She underwent 2 rhinoplasties in the early 1990’s, the second to repair the first procedure.  Nobody recognized her and her career was reduced to guest appearances on television shows and made for t.v. movies.  Her new nose does not “match” the rest of her facial features.

Angelina Jolie- She used to be my favorite actress in her “hacker” years.  Now she looks very sharp in the face (almost mean)  and older than she really is.

Heidi Montag- Probably the most controversial addict next to Jocelyn Wildenstein.  Heidi had some work done a few years ago and then in late 2009 she had 10 major procedures in one day, including a back scoop, which i’ve never heard of, but can’t be good for the body.  She almost died during the procedure.   I saw this video and really think this girl has absolutely lost her mind!  http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/a1da6ff653/heidi-montag-says-no-to-plastic   Heidi’s plastic surgeon, Dr. Frank Ryan obviously needs to be reevaluated as a doctor because you don’t keep a person sedated for so long to be “prettier”.   His bad judgement almost killed her.  You don’t do so many procedures at once.. what if Heidi hated the outcome.. and she did, she didn’t think her breasts were large enough, apparently she is going for the H cup (H for Heidi).. The surgeon should have sent her to a psychiatrist once he realized this woman  may have some psychological disorder(s).  She says she did it because she was made fun of as a child.  But I was bullied too, so what!  I don’t know any kids that weren’t bullied..it’s a part of growing up (not advocating it exactly, but it also teaches one to to stand up for themselves).  56% of girls are bullied for their looks.  Heidi can no longer jog, hug, smile correctly, and has a fragile body.  She legally can have no more surgeries in the United States.  She filed for divorce less than a week ago and looks about 15+ years older since her surgeries.

Famous people with little or no plastic surgery..

This one is a little tougher.. successful plastic surgery means that you can’t tell its fake and it looks good.

Lady Gaga: One of the most famous people in the world now has had little done. It’s not confirmed but from her looks in a couple of before and after photos, it appears she’s had a nose job, chin implant and lip injections. It’s very subtle and I wouldn’t have been able to tell. Her nose still matches her face, her implant balances well and her lips aren’t overdone. I love that she’s not had breast implants..because she looks normal.  They aren’t huge and that is great,  I’m large and it hasn’t really done anything “great” for me.  I’ve also read she is considering a major overhaul of her looks. Some advice for her: you don’t get plastic surgery at the possibly the highest point of your career, obviously you are doing something right and changing the way you look will most likely be disastrous to your life.  The changes in her appearance in music videos is likely due to makeup contouring, lighting and the angles at which they film her.

Although I do not agree with all of the entries read this and choose for yourself:  www.goodplasticsurgery.com

For celebrities, I guess it’s unavoidable, they have to look their best to be loved 🙂

I disagree. Extreme plastic surgery doesn’t “age” well and the victim usually looks worse. A couple of minor procedures that do not greatly alter a person’s appearance can further a career, but unfortunately too many celebs become obsessed with looking their best by resorting to surgery to achieve that. In the end they end up losing their careers instead of aging gracefully a perhaps still have a career. You can’t play a 25 year old your whole career!

It is a really sad topic. I think it’s fine if you get a little something done to enhance your beauty not to alter it completely. Women who are already beautiful do through drastic procedures. The young girls and women watching them on TV and magazine feel even more pressure to look like them.

I don’t mind plastic surgery if it’s subtle. Unfortunately, almost everyone in Hollywood doesn’t understand subtlety.

Oddly enough, Madonna is my favorite example of good plastic surgery. (And she’s NEVER subtle!) http://www.cupcakestastenice.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/new-york-mag.jpg She looks natural, her skin is just super-smooth for her age.

Her actual “work” isn’t bad. I saw an unretouched photo of her a few days ago actually and you can tell her skin is mature. Next to the photo was the touched up magazine version and her skin is smoother than mine. It’s better her skin looks older instead of botoxed though.

What makes me sad is that most of these girls/women were beautiful in their own way before their started their surgeries. A pity really…
